Microsoft Wireless Desktop 800 USB keyboard and mouse combo review

Microsoft makes pretty decent hardware products and quality is definitely one of the strong points. Microsoft wireless desktop 800 USB keyboard and mouse combo in terms of functionality too is strong.
Build quality : In terms of build quality, this product is standard. Nothing much to write about. Somewhat sturdy plastic. Light weight and durable.
Ergonomics: Comfortable usage is a strong point of Microsoft and this product is no different. Though not as ergonomic oriented as the specific 'ergo' models but still we found the keyboard and mouse to be very easy on the palm and wrist. One disadvantage we found was that the mouse may become very heavy when loaded with 2 rechargeable AA batteries, interfering with the smooth performance. One can remove one battery and use mouse too but an option for AAA (smaller battery) would have been better. On the other hand, ironically the keyboard has AAA sized batteries!
Another minor concern could be the tiny size of the function keys on this Microsoft keyboard that we reviewed.
Performance: The feel of the keyboard on Microsoft wireless desktop 800 USB keyboard is good as it the press distance, which is perfect for everyday use. Feedback of keys are appropirate too. Mouse has a good speed with 1000DPI rating though working with higher DPIs may be better for gamers and designers, 1000DPI is good for desktop use. No switch to change DPI, as expected at this price point. Smoothness of mouse is good.
