Unique selling proposition : The battery

The phone has a very impressive battery backup of almost one day on normal usage. We infact performed a torture test with full HD video playback, 3G and wifi-hotspot on with 4 heavy apps still it has an impressive stand of about 7 hours. This is the phone if you are a power user and love to use the android phone to the max. Another big plus point is that the battery is removable so you can replace with a new one as and when required. One small issue is there that the supplied charger is 1A rating so it takes long time ~4hours to charge.

Hardware & Performance

The phone has a 1.2Ghz quadcore Snapdragon processor which has now become a norm in the budget Android world. It is coupled with Adreno 306 graphics chip which is also good. It has 2GB ram which is best in class. The phone has 16GB internal memory out of which ~12.3GB is usable and it is expandable to 32GB by external SD card.

This is for Lenovo A6000

We were not expecting much from this device given the budget phone tag but we were not left with anything to complain. This phone has a heart of dragon (read snapdragon MSM8916) and works flawlessly for daily tasks we threw at it. What is worth noting that it fares much better than it's younger brother, A680 and is capable of common games without lag. Real racing 3 gave us no hiccups on this phone.

The 5 inch IPS screen is bright and clear with vibrant color gamut. On the sound front too the phone is competent with nice Dolby twin speakers.

Camera Quality

Everybody loves to shoot and a bad camera can be a deal breaker for many. This phone has a power performer 8MP rear camera. Secondary camera is also good at 2MP. In this budget this is a good deal. Just be careful. The camera lens has a tiny protective cover on it. Remove that when you start using this phone or else you will get hazy bluish pictures.

User Interface

We did not have much time to test all themes and customizations but the UI seemed easy on the eyes. Lenovo has given Vibe UI 2.0 on this device which is pretty and functional. There are two pre-installed themes which are good to start with. Moreover if you are unhappy, you can go for custom themes or launchers.

Another blemish is that the navigation keys at the bottom are not illuminated. Same problem as with Xiaomi Redmi.

Communication Quality

After all a phone is for calling and there is nothing much to say in this regard. Happy to have noise free calls and no-network drops. 3G and 4G works effortlessly though there is some surge in battery drain while using 4G network. SIM 1 supports 4G/3G/2G while SIM 2 supports 2G.

Build Quality

Lenovo is known for the tank like build quality on Thinkpads. Don't expect any such thing here but this phone is not too flimsy either. The phone feels light at 128grams and looks slim too.  There is a bigger problem at hand. Yes, one of the big flaws of this phone is lack of a scratch proof touch screen. This phone has a simple (maybe hardened glass?) which is no match to the Corning Gorrila Glass or Asahi Dragontrail. Better get a screen protector for this. You wont regret it. You could use the bundled screen guard if short on cash.
