How to update Samsung Galaxy S4 to Lolipop (android L)
Samsung has provided updates to existing users of Samsung Galaxy S4 which can now be updated to Android L by users even in India. This comes around two weeks after the update for S5 was released. The new update comes within 90 days of release of source code of Android Lollipop as promised by the smartphone giant. The process to download is discussed below and users can follow the steps mentioned here to download the same and install it to their devices.
This news comes hardly one week after Lee Sang-Chul was appointed as the head of the Samsung. He was brought in from the Russian division of the company to represent a new face for the company.
Installation
Before you download the update make sure of the following per-requisites:
- Battery >50% (we recommend full charge)
- Free memory >403Mb ( we recommend at least 1GB)
- Backup all the data, phone numbers, SMS, etc
The installation is around 1GB so better download through wifi. You can use the Over-the-air download method(by phone) as it is simplerthan using Kias software.You can install the update from the phone menu by clicking on:

You shall get better UI, a cleaner notification screen and other features found in L.Other than the promised updates, the Android Lollipop L update on Samsung Galaxy S4 will bring up new features like wifi-calling and seemless camera app. They have also made a few changes to the TouchWiz UI. The update also brings a big battery booster feature called the network scheduler that will help you save battery.
