It's cool enough to feature in the next James Bond movie. Sized at almost half that of an adult male's palm, this is a small wonder. The latest offering from Samsung is the external drive, Samsung T1 which is an exponential step up from the common external hard disks as it clocks at speeds of 450 MB/S. This device is so fast that you can transfer a 1GB file in just 2.6 seconds or A blue ray quality movie of 10GB in less than 30 seconds.

Even on the fastest USB 3.0 HDDs, it would take at least thrice as much time. Another advantage would be the durability. We all know how fragile a hard disk is when it comes to physical shocks. This is made of Solid State Technology so it can withstand a few drops here and there. As far as the details from the company goes,it seems that they have invented a 3D array of NAND memory, which helps to enhance the read-write speeds.

Samsung also revealed that the SSD will come preformatted in exFAT,which iscompaitble across Windows, Mac and Unix. The drive will come in sizes ranging from 250GB to 1TB but this beauty won't come cheap. The 250GB version itself will cost $179. The release date is announced at late January across North America, Europe and Asia.
