How to extend battery of android phone?

This is a very common issue that I see android users facing. While a smartphone makes your life better with wide range of functionality, it's battery gets drained pretty fast too doing all those smart tasks!

Here are a few tips that can help you extract maximum juice from your phones:

  1. Use it less !

It was found out that an average person looks at his/her screen 140 times a day! That's almost once in every 10 mins of the day. This tip is the most difficult to follow!
  2. Apps to reduce usage

There are lots of apps that can come to your rescue here.

App Quarantine : A nifty little app, which can be used to quarantine apps by choosing them and locking them up so that they don't start off on their own. Very useful to stop apps like Facebook, which eat away awful amount of battery to give you instant update on who has invited you to play farmville.

Greenify : An app that helps extend the battery of your android phone by managing which apps remain in active session which to put to hibernation, thereby making it more-responsive and conserve processing power too.

Clean master: It's a multi faceted app that helps your android phone perform better and secure it too. This app will also give you some boost in the batter of your android phone.

  3. Auto-brightness

This is an in-built feature of most phones and can be accessed by the swipe-down/notification screen. Simplest was to save power is to switch on Auto-brightness as most of the time the main culprit for drinking the juice out of your phone is the screen.

Another option is to manually change the brightness as per the need. Also, if you are already in the auto-brightness, you can temporarily change brightness and next time when ambient light changes, it will automatically change.
  4. Anticipate down peak usage

Most of the time, we can anticipate peak usage of the phone. One such scenario is while travelling. We know that there will be high usage of camera and one may also listen to music all along.

You can reduce the brightness while indoor or vehicle and stop all non-important tasks. Switch off data too. This way, you can extend the battery of your android phone and save some juice for later.
  5. External power bank

While all other methods were free, this one will cost you dollars. But mind it, a power bank is the most essential accessory for a smartphone. It does not require any explanation as to how to use it. One line of advice, go for the largest one that can fit in your pocket/bag and always buy branded one.
