Xiaomi announces redmi 2

The world's budget smartphone leader, Xiaomi announced that. Hat it would be launching its new, updated version of Redmi in 2015. Overseas market like India, Indonesia will get hit by the second Redmi wave by April 2015. 

Citing the tremendous sale from last year the company seems optimistic about this year too. There are many flash sales which made redmi 1s sales to about 1 million in India in about 5 months. That too amidst controversies.
The specs for Redmi 2 would be very similar to Redmi 1. In fact it is an effort to address the biggest problem on the phone : memory.  The team would be updated to 2gb in place of 1gb and storage would be 16gb. Other than that, both SIM CARD would support 4G LTE. That's it. Still it addresses the major issue about performance. 


Other specs like 4.7 inch IPS screen, quad core processor, 8MP rear and 2MP front camera remain same. 

The phone is expected to be priced at Rs6999 in India and will be sold exclusively via Flipkart.
